From August 1st, we'll take over the running of six children’s centres in East Bradford.

Working on behalf of Bradford Council, we'll provide children’s services at a newly-formed cluster of centres comprising Barkerend, Communityworks, Fagley, Gateway, Mortimer House and Parkland.

We have been delivering children’s centre services across Yorkshire for over 16 years and we currently work with over 390,000 children, young people and families across the UK.

"The East Bradford community is unique, diverse and full of potential so we look forward to supporting children and their families to ensure they thrive.”"

John Egan, Director of Children's Services

The children's centres will offer an early years service which includes:

  • The Family Links antenatal programme: an 8-week course for pregnant women and their partners to prepare for birth and parenthood
  • Birth visit including breast feeding support within the first month
  • A welcome visit at 3 – 4 months
  • Weaning advice
  • Early language development session (6 months of age)
  • Developmental movement play session
  • Early language development session (18 months)
  • A development review at two-and-a-half years
  • Access to a free early education place in the term after their child’s third birthday
  • Free Book Start packs

Our team will continue to work with partners to deliver services, and will be bringing the work of midwifery and health visiting closer together to provide a more integrated service.

"Many issues faced by families can be dealt with more easily if they’re caught early so we’re here to provide that early help to build a better future for children across Bradford. As a UK based charity we will bring lots of added value to the service and the community."

John Egan
