Two Stockton nurseries have been nominated for awards at this year’s prestigious Nursery World Awards.

The Fairfield Day Care Centre and the Riverbank Early Years Nursery, run by Action for Children, were thrilled to be acknowledged for their contribution to early years development.

Andrea Moore, who works as a Cluster Manager for four nurseries in Stockton-on-Tees, is based at the Fairfield Centre and was nominated for “Regional Manager of the Year.”

The nursery is registered for 52 children and mainly accommodates two-year-olds. Currently, the Fairfield staff are helping new-starters to settle in and providing the necessary support to the families, as their children develop.

Andrea, 54, said: “My staff are the bedrock of the nursery and I am truly thankful for their consistent hard work and determination to improving children’s lives. We work closely with each parent to ensure that their child has the best possible start in life. If their child or members of their family need additional support, we are quick to put them in contact with other agencies.”

"We have also developed a great relationship with the school that we are housed in and this has proved beneficial for working parents whose children require access to breakfast and after school facilities."

Andrea attended the ceremony at The Brewery, London on Saturday 24th September and said: “I am touched and honoured to be up for an award. I have worked for Action for Children for four years and this nomination has come as somewhat of a surprise. It was a fantastic evening and despite it being a nerve wracking experience, I felt very humbled to be nominated by the staff and parents at Fairfield.”

The Riverbank Nursery also in Stockton was nominated for the “Provision for Two-year-olds” award.
